    OK Whitehouse... now explain why the capital of the Netherlands is s'Gravenhage [[where the parliament is) AND Amsterdam [[where the Royal Palace is)?

    I looked up the term "the Low Countries" thinking that low countries translates into the nether lands, [[meaning lower, under, or below in English) Wikipedia said 'low countries' translates into 'Lage Landen' instead of nether land. In school, we were taught that the 'low countries' consisted of Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. To add to the link, there was once this definition of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands closer to the US definition of "low countries":

    s'Gravenhage, or The Hague, is the capital of South Holland and it's the seat of government. Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands while Haarlem is the capital of North Holland, in which Amsterdam is found.
