    Default Where is Lassen/Lazzen[[sic) street?

Saw author Mark Binelli who wrote "Detroit City is the place to be" a new book about Detroit on C-Span w Steve Henderson.

He said it stood out as one of city's most interesting areas.

Anyone know area he is referring to? Thanks, can't wait to read this book.

I was there the evening that he referred to Service Street. He said "Lazzens" [[sic) because he was referring to his neighbor, Chet Lazzen [[sic) as in "Lazzen's [[sic) street".

He said that Service Street, [[which looks like an alley; it's loft store fronts face Gratiot, across from the Gratiot Central Market) was his favorite place to live in Detroit.

There's already a thread on this book, but since this has come up again, here is the book talk about which OP is referring:

Took a stroll on Service st and up toward Gratiot on Google Streetview. I found this place Cheap Charlies that sells used work clothes and new stuff as well. Never heard it mentioned on threads here. I was wondering if anyone knows the place, what its like. That little Service street is really sweet.
