    Default Michigan Central Station Area.

I must ask if what I recall is correct.
The three story building directly on the east side of MCR, is that the old Railroad Express Agency [REA] building?
It is between 14th & 15th Streets and on the south side Mararnette Street.
Been 40 plus years since I have been that way; in fact when I left Detroit, I left on a PennCentral Train heading west to Chicago and west from there.
    Thanks for any input.

Wasn't that a DPS warehouse in the 80s/90s?

I'm talking about the 50's & 60's era; but thanks for that info.

If it is the building I am thinking of, it was once part of the postal service.

The REA trucks were under the train tracks and behind the Michigan Penn Central building. This was back in the late 70's

Are you asking about the Briggs Mfg. office building that is shown and discussed on this Oct. 2008 DetroitYes thread?

Briggs was a block north. He's referring to the Roosevelt Warehouse.

Roosevelt Warehouse, was from about 1930 until the early 1970's was a Postal Distribution center.

No, that isn't the building I am speaking about. The building I am thinking of would have been just south of White Castle/Briggs and is still standing today.

Thanks, since you posted this, I Google Map the area and found what you stated to be true.
REA, the FedEx of it's day.

You mean the Roosevelt Warehouse? It was designed by Albert Kahn and was originally a post office before it was used as the public schools equipment depository. It is owned by Matty.
