    Default The Season of Giving

In this that time of the year to lend a hand to the less fortunate, I would like it if we would list non-profits that we can donate toys, money, assist in serving dinners, etc.
I will start off by saying, that for our "Strong Detroiters" Christmas party we are asking our guest to donate a new toy that we will then donate to Methodist Children's Home Society.

    Here's some information about them:
Methodist Children’s Home Society has been successfully helping children for 95 years, but right now foster children are in dire straits. The costs of caring for these children has increased, but state funding has not. In these hard economic times, our children need your financial investment now, more than ever. We refuse to cut critical services that impact the well-being of our children, and MCHS is currently 41% below this year’s $375,000 fundraising goal. We need you.
Last year MCHS served more than 270 children through residential, foster care, adoption and literacy programs. With services based on our 72-acre campus in Redford, Michigan, we help children and families from all over the state.

The Georgia Street Community Collective was founded by this Forum's Cub [[Mark), who has done an amazing job transforming empty lots and homes/buildings into a community garden and community center. His work is truly inspirational and making a difference in the neighborhood.
