A man wants Toledo back to Michigan.

A man who is a living in Toledo wants file a petition to have the city returned to the State of Michigan. Here's the Source... http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...ETRO/211150449

Folks do we really Toledo back to Michigan? Or leave Toledo alone. Any thoughts?

The Toledo War was averted by giving the Toledo strip to Ohio and compensating Michigan with most of the Upper Peninsula which was taken away from Wisconsin Territory. Wisconsin was the loser in that exchange. Being a Wisconsin resident, I want the UP back where it belongs. Most Uppers would probably be agreeable given the choice between being part of Michigan or Wisconsin. For Uppers, it would be like choosing between the Packers and Detroit. Maybe Uppers should be offered an advisory referendum. It's time for the UP to come home

Wisconsin has all the Lake Superior lake frontage they deserve....

If Michigan gets Toledo back... that should include Put-In-Bay Islands and Perry Monument....

Gistok, provocations could incite a cheese and beer embargo. Lake Superior motifs would work out well on Leinie labels. Put-In-bay sounds like a good idea though. Ohio isn't doing anything with it.

Oladub... I found it fascinating how Wisconsin has been "mining" the waterlog logs at the bottom of Lake Superior from century old logging... logs from centuries old trees the size of which just don't exist much anymore. They make everything from fine higher end furniture to violins.

Wisconsin may have to change their motto from "Smell our Dairy Air"... to "In Wisconsin you'll find the Biggest Wood in the World".
