Repaving of Woodward?

Does anyone knows when will street construction will be completed on Woodward Avenue from the Fisher Frwy to Boston Edison area. It is hard on the car when driving north on Woodward from downtown. Street repaving was done two years ago on Woodward from the Boston Edison area to Higland Park. I had never seen Woodward, a main throroughfare, in such dire need of repaving.

Repaving was being delayed until construction of the Woodward light rail. The tracks were to be laid in conjunction with the repaving to save money. There have been some patch work done recently though.

It will be reconstructed shortly. They are taking it down to the dirt and will probably begin it next construction season from Adams N to Euclid.

Reconstruction down to the dirt! New sidewalks, $5 million in streetscape and another amenitity.

It will be worn out again by then!

When is the next construction season? Before or after Thanksgiving?

The next season will be spring 2013.

The road construction season ends ~mid November in Michigan because of cold weather. Bridge construction can go a bit later with the use of heaters.
