Default Some Detroiters thinking internationally with Dlectricity

I went to the Dlectricity event this weekend and I was very impressed. It was a little cold and rainy on Friday but Saturday the weather was better. So on Friday I didn't walk around enough to see all the exhibits/light shows but on Saturday I did.

Now, I didn't know what to expect and probably a little disappointed because I thought there would be little shows in the sky. But on Saturday I saw the light display on the Center of Creative Studies campus, the show with the bikes lit up, some other shows and saw up close the display on the Science school next to the Detroit Science Center and it got me.

Now, to say Detroiters thinking internationally this Dlectricity event is held the same weekend in two other countries.

In short,I think some Detroiters are doing some different things to enjoy life in the D.

After seeing the Main Library [[which was completely bad-ass), and spending about 1/2 an hour looking at it from both sides of Woodward, I came to the conclusion that Detroit, in spite of itself, has hope.

I did not make it to this event. It would seem to me that the Car companies & DTE would want in on this action to shamelessly self-promote electric car or solar technology. It could be both art and education.

I went and thought it was very cool. There were many great exhibits, but the front of the library was indeed mesmerizing. We stood looking at it for probably 25 minutes...and could've stayed for hours.

Does anyone happen to know if this event will be yearly?
