I'll be there tonight. Generally I avoid Detroit-themed stuff since I have enough Detroit in my life, but it is very nice to see a documentary that shows some of the people of Detroit, their day-to-day, and the great challenges our firefighters face. Beats the hell out of the straight-ruin-porn or the guy who sells raccoon meat or Christians opening art epicenter slum coffee shops.

My sister and brother in law will be attending tonight. My brother in law retired 9 years ago from the DFD. He was Chief.

We were there, it was phenomenal. Very exciting to see, very emotional. There was a tremendous show of brotherhood from the DFD and there were some DPD there as well. I have a very close relative who was featured in the film and I know many of the others. Chose not to go to the after party, there must be 1,000 people going. Great night, downtown was great. Doogie, you're the man!

Firefighters from throughout the state [[and especially Detroit) turned out en masse.

I'm sure the State Theatre [[yeah, that's right) was sold out.

Excellent film. My buddy and I had a lively conversation about it afterward. I'd say that's a good test of a film's merits.

The firefighters had no shortage of contempt for Detroit Fire Commissioner Don Austin. The filmmakers did a great job of trying to balance it out, though.

    Certainly worth seeing.

Agree with the above comments. Excellent film. Dave Parnell is my new hero.

I believe they still have tickets for tonight's show available at the door. First come, first served.
