    Joy is easy to get over, pain isn't. I doubt this region ever cooperates - at least it won't in our lifetimes.

    That is an excellent preview of how things can work in a future metro Detroit. In fact it points to the only way Detroit's region will reach success as it did in the past on many levels. The great cultural gems of Detroit will be preserved and enhanced through cooperation. Exclusionary measures have prevented Detroit from becoming a better city, not the other way around.

    It's amazing to think anyone would believe a physical barrier would separate blacks and whites, or would keep them from mingling, or whatever.

    It's a worthy field trip to visit the wall.
