Default Can Anyone Provide The Names of Some Good Detroit Non-Profits?

Good morning, everyone. A friend of mine is looking to work with a non-profit to do probono ad work for school and would like to find one in Detroit. Thanks for any help!

I thought the Detroit Dog Rescue or the Aquarium could be good choices.

Georgia Street Community Collective. Forum member, Cub, started the garden and the community center as a direct result of a conversation on this board.

A lot of folks here talk a good game about giving back, about making a change that matters, Cub puts talk into action and he needs help. His organization is a full on legit 501(3)C non-profit and he does everything from fundraising to pulling weeds to delivering 135 backpacks to needy students to feeding the hungry.

He's the real deal and well worthy of support.

SASHA (SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES FOR HEALING & AWARENESS)
    SAFE (SISTERS ACQUIRING FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT)

These two 501c3 non-profit agencies are located in Detroit. Both provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexualt assault.

MACK ALIVE (MACK AVE. & FISCHER) also a 501c3 non-profit is a community resource center. They provide after school tutoring, computer training, male responsibility, senior services, and employment.

Crain's Detroit Business gives awards to best managed nonprofits every year. A google searh comes up with some past winners. But maybe a call to Crain's would get you a list of all past recipients.
