    Default Old school Jumbo's Bar

    My Great Grandma owned Jumbo's Bar on 3rd St. between 20's and 40's. Any info is greatly appreciated! I have learned LOTS on this site CRAZY!!! Like my Father & his 4 brother's. I just learned this after my dear Grandma passed 6-14-2012. Apparently there were member's of the Purple Gang my Great Grandma had to "threaten" to leave her daughter alone. [[HOTTIE LOL!!!) This was 1934-1936. My dear late Grandma was born in 1919. I would love to hear ANY old info on this!!!! 50's & later is very easy to find. It's the OLD info looking for Yet I'm a sucker for info. Good/interesting story...SHARE PLZ!!!!

    Years ago, a guy named Ric Bohy interviewed old Jumbo and wrote a long story about him for one of the dailies. They have it up on the wall there. It's still owned and operated by the Furkovich family. A younger generation has discovered Jumbo's and it's a good mix of old-timers and the young-and-hip set. It went through a period in the 1980s when it was a place to ... meet a certain class of women ...
