Real BBQ was not a hit on Dix by the Lincoln Park Meijer and it closed earlier this year.
Now, there are signs in the window saying it will be replaced by Billy Sims BBQ in October.
Just wanted to pass along the info.

Thanks for passing.....same song/different singer will equal same results
The Billy Sims?
Yea, #20. Oklahoma-based franchise.
Yes, THE Billy Sims
What use to be a Arby's on 10 mile and Telegraph in Southfield, is going to be a Billy Sims BBQ.
Sounds like something that would do well downtown...I seem to recall another rather successful BBQ Joint in a quaint greater downtown neighborhood...maybe next to the Meijer in Lincoln Park doesn't have the draw that it used to...
Another one bites the dust ...
Wasn't there another guy that wore #20 after him. Can't think of his name...
Is Billy partnered up with Dr. Jerry Argovitz on this deal?
That was Lem Barney I believe.
How about a Barney, Billy and Barry Bar-B-Q. They could call it 3B B-B-Q.
Boomer!!!!
The name escapes me. I think it was Bill Steffen.
I heard good things about the Real BBQ when they first opened, thought they were doing good. That is a tough spot, though. Parking lot is not very big. I'll give Billy Sim's a try when it opens. Used to be a good bbq joint called Kelpoury's at Outer Drive and Dix back in the 70's. I recall they found the owner of that place in his trunk at the airport with a bullet in the back of his head.
It was reported that Billy Sims was having financial trouble as recently as a few years ago. Maybe he turned his fortunes around, hope it works for him, he was a good back before the injuries.
Just noticed today that the Lincoln Park location has closed. Are the other metro ones still open. I thought the ribs were ok but the sides were not good.
The one near 10 and Telegraph is open.
