    Default David Whitney Building

Does anyone know when the David Whitney Building will be renovated? It says it's supposed to open next year, and I would assume they would start soon.

    I heard 2014.

I've yet to see an article that states they received their final bridge financing after getting the Historical tax credits last December. You can almost always add a couple of years to the construction/completion dates you read.

...I wonder what jobs this will generate beyond the construction element..

If it ends up being a hotel...housekeeping, management staff, security, building engineers, etc. At least 25+ jobs for the hotel component alone.

    Thanks
With the recent success at the Broderick, the Whitneys 108 apartments look like a good bet to be filled.
Also a people mover station will upgraded to allow access to the building.
I hope they secure all financing and begin in the fall!

No problem, I wrote the article I posted above and that is exactly what they told me. Groundbreaking in September for sure, just not a specific date yet.

Do you have any idea how many hotel rooms?

This business about the PM station is the third time it has been mentioned in the last month. The station already connects to the building - it is just locked since the building is empty. If you peek through the doors from the platform, the turnstyles are still sitting there. That's also why this is the only station w/o elevator access - the elevators are in the building.

Hopefully the part in the building will be at least spruced up, but I'm confused why it is being touted as a 'renovation' or 'upgrade' to allow access to the building.

Well, unlocking the doors would be a nice upgrade.

Wow, very nice photos. Are you selling them? Could use a couple of these blown up for my office.
