Default Hamtown Farms Ground Breaking Day June 9th

    Howdy Yes'ers!

You've probably seen a post or two about Hamtown Farms here on Detroit yes asking for you to vote for this or to like that. Thanks for your support!

Everybody's efforts have really paid off. Join us on June 9th [[9am-2pm) to see the efforts of dozens and dozens of businesses and residents combining to create something very unique.

It will be a great day of planting, filling raised beds, stacking phone books and other light volunteer work. We promise, no back-breaking labor needed. [[We've been busting our humps to make sure everything is ready for a nice enjoyable day.)

There will be lunch provided by Maria's Comida, tunes spun by Hamtramck's own Top Kat and plenty of kids activities. Plus for you permaculture fans, Trevor Newman of Roots to Fruits Ecological Design will be on site helping to lead the planting. He's a great source for those who may want to put a little more sustainability into their own gardens.

Let us know if you can make it:

Interesting... Best of luck. I'll be working all day.

[[Hope you knocked on every door in a three mile radius & received written permission to plant trees. I kid... kinda.)

An absolutely amazing day! Thanks to all 100+ volunteers who came out! I think I spied a few Yes'ers in the crowd.

Below is a link to an interesting video snippet a friend shot. It doesn't show off the end product but gives a good impression of the day.

Here's a semi-overhead shot of the progress thus far. We're blown away by the amount of ownership area residents are taking in this project!
