A Rupert Koch design. Mr. Koch wins the most disrespected architect award this past week. I was very excited upon finding the background on this dwelling, but was quite dejected after seeing what had happened to this once elegant building.

For fans of Philadelphia architect Wilson Eyre who designed The Detroit Club and the Charles Lang Freer House....

Lecture: “Harmony in Design: Freer House, the Detroit Club and the Architecture of Wilson Eyre, Jr.,” Sunday, March 10, 2013, 2pm. Jeffrey Cohen, PhD., Bryn Mawr College, discusses Wilson Eyre, Jr., the Philadelphia-based architect who burst onto the national stage in the 1880's while in his mid-twenties. He enjoyed a long and successful career adapting to fast paced development in architecture while grounding his work in a unique visual expression of materials, space and design. His artful renderings were widely known through architectural journals and exhibitions that helped spread his reputation across Philadelphia and the East Coast, eventually landing him two major commissions in Detroit under the patronage of industrialist and art collector, Charles Lang Freer. Immediately following are tours of the historic Freer House; refreshments will be served. The Freer House is located on Ferry Avenue, just one block north of the DIA. $5 for Freer House members and students; $10 nonmembers.

White is a very elegant looking building! I do not have any info but it looks like Malcomson & Higginbotham design. Give me a little time I have a feeling the architect/architects can be found.
