The original owner was William Edwin Moss from 1913-1920. The next owner was J. Walter Drake from 1920-1924. Drake was the president of Hupmobile and also built 650 West Boston Boulevard.

2116 Seminole was built with the same floor plan as the house next door. One is brick and the other stucco. The roofs are in different styles as are the front doors and windows. The neighbor's large third floor dormer was added somewhat later.

2116 is Gottesleban's own home. The information on 2126 Seminole I have is a builder named Wallace & Karpp and probable as Gottesleban for the architect. The same floor plan would help confirm it as one of Gottesleban's.

Even though Indian Village is best known for very elegant individual dwellings over the years several homes were built on spec or in one area by one architect or one firm. Neilr's info on 2116 and 2126 Seminole gave the inspiration to add a few more groups.

First are the 4 homes designed by Robert Derrick for the Cook Farm Company on Burns [[they are across the street from the four homes designed by Herman & Simons for Cook). All four share similar square footage and lot size

    2918 Burns built in 1924.

Even though his firm design some very lovely homes, Albert Kahn did not care much for residential design work. So its a little suprising when you see the triplets on Iroquois, three very rare spec homes designed by Kahn.

Moving to Berry Historic District two designs by Robert Derrick. 444 Lodge built in 1922 for Frederick S. Ford and 360 Lodge built in 1923 for John B. Ford Jr. are not exactly similar but do have a similar feel and are a couple of my favorites in the city. Also all the pics I am posting are from the considerable number of buildings we have that are standing and available to view any time. I know there are quite a few on here who spend time in the areas I have shown. For those who have not seen them please go and see your favorites!

Although the next two churches are not located in Detroit, they are considered to be significant works by Coquard.

Here is a challange...we talked about this house probably 8 years ago on DYes and it was built for a family, but I cannot recall the details. I do recall that the family name was also given to a road in the area. The house in question is at W. Grand Boulevard and Grand River. It is behind the Subway...the family name might be Tireman..

Patrick, is this the house you're referring to?
