Includes an article/rendering featuring 1852-1856 Planavon from a 1923 edition of the Detroit Free Press. Builder: Roy Tilton Both Kiehler and Tilton were residents of Ferndale.     Do you know the rationale behind using such big numbers for addresses? There are examples of streets with addresses that contain 5 digits even though they serve only 5 or 6 lots.

    I have not found any information on the building. You might check to see if the building permit is on file downtown.
    The address is based on the distance from the north/south axis of Detroit. In this case the distance from Woodward Avenue. At McNichols the axis shifts east to John R.
