James D. Kennedy was a principle in D. J. Kennedy & Son, contractors. Daniel J. Kennedy was the other principle.

Currently the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.
I am very happy the landscaping has been redesigned, allowing everyone to see all the details of this fabulous house.

I recently found a photo of Baseball Hall of Famer Sam Crawford sitting on the porch of his home in Detroit. The photo is in post #14 of the link below - didn't want to lift the picture directly from that site. Any idea where the house is/was?

The house was located at 295 Hague in the North End. Unfortunately the house has been razed. The house on the left in the image is still standing.

I think this is your house [[address is 295 Hague). Sam Crawford was living at 109 Hague Ave. according to the 1910 census. Before the big address change, that was between John R and Brush. The outside cladding of the house has changed, but the window configuration seems to match, and the neighboring house's distinct chimney looks the same in both. I attached the original - I have no problem lifting it for a fair use discussion.

Wahoo Sam sounds like a great ballplayer - he still holds the MLB record for career triples. He just kept getting compared to the guy standing next to him in the outfield - Ty Cobb.

As p69rrh51 points out [[and I missed), the house is gone. You can see that clearly from the google aerial view [[from 2016), even though the street view still shows the house [[from 2013). Sorry.
