DEVRIES AND COMPANY [[Formerly Hirt's) is open

Nice to see it open...just got a chance to look inside, as they were closing. Gone is the cashier cage/room, exposing long hidden green tile walls. The cheese counter was expanded and the floors sanded or cleaned and clear coated. All in all it looks great.

We'll wait until the spring rush is over before heading in, if I learned one thing about living in Eastern Market...leave town for the three weekends of "Flower Day".

Now that he's settled upon a name...although I was hoping he'd incorporate that 1893 into it somehow, since that IS already in bricks at the top of the facade...we can consolodate these threads.
