Default NEWSWEEK MAG COVER - 'The First Gay President'

    Ok, Let The Games Begin!!

From article: "...Obama's face pictured looking skyward and a rainbow-colored halo above his head, the controversial cover leads to a story written by gay writer Andrew Sullivan -- a self-described political conservative -- who analyzes the president's backing of gay marriage."

I'm sure the Narcissist-in-Chief has no problem whatsoever with that Newsweek cover.

The same unchecked ego that has already given us two Barack Obama autobiographies has spilled over into many of the Presidential biographies on the official US White House web site at http://www.whitehouse.gov

For example, there is this paragraph that was recently added to President Truman's bio:
In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has "an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama Administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.

How about this one that also manages to allow the first and second ladies to bask in the glow of both President Hoover's and President Obama's historical accomplishments:
President Herbert Hoover signed the bill founding the Department of Veterans Affairs July 21, 1930. President Obama is committed to making sure that the VA, the second-largest cabinet department, serves the needs of all veterans and provides a seamless transition from active duty to civilian life, and has directed his Administration to modernize the way health care is delivered and benefits are administered for our nation's veterans. First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden launched Joining Forces to mobilize all sectors of society to give our service members and their families the opportunities and support they have earned.

Obama's minions might have to re-write this piece of self-promotional fluff once the US Supreme Court gets through with it:
President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed into law in 1965—providing millions of elderly healthcare stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”

Here's the updated portion of President Eisenhower's biography:
President Dwight Eisenhower established the President's Council on Youth Fitness on July 16, 1956 [[now known as The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports) after learning from a study that American youth were less fit than European youth. Today the Council is still going strong—with Olympians and professional athletes on board—working in conjunction with the First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative to help promote healthier lifestyles.

This last one was much too modest, after all, everyone knows that when it comes to great military leaders, Obama is right up there with Eisenhower. How do we know? Well, according to VP Joe Biden, President Obama is one of the most audacious military plotters in the past 500 years!

OK, so you've made it clear that you have nothing to offer on the subject of this thread. Why then can't you just leave it at that instead of trying to threadjack and make me the subject?

No no. Please, let him say what he has to say. I know you don't like it but at least in here we know where he is, instead of on those deranged sites like Breitbart.com or atlasshrugged.com.

    Keep you enemies close.

LOL. The thread is about the Newsweek cover implying that the POTUS is homosexual. It doesn't have anything to do with your spam about his big ego.

I would think that most people realize that the cover is only for shock value and it is offensive and pointless.

Absent any further replies from Mikeg, can we assume realization that ejames01 is correct? If so, isn't it polite forum etiquette to acknowledge the fact?

Limbaugh and Newsweek may be preoccupied with id, but it is irrelevant. Gingrich similarly displayed suspicion of motives with the infamous "Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior" gaffe. Most importantly, sexual identity is a non-issue as relates to the president.

Regarding the message from the spam in this thread, let me digress and note that a powerful person with an inflated ego is common. Nevertheless, the said presidential biographies remain intact except for appropriate "Did you know?" footnotes containing lighthearted and accurate historical links. Resist the asinine compulsion to disparage any and everything Obama.
