    Default Detroit Haiku [[contest)

Who can write a Haiku best describing Detroit?

    Winner gets kudos!!

"Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.

Here's a Haiku to help you remember:
    I am first with five
Then seven in the middle --
    Five again to end.

I apologize to Jim if I didn't get it just right. It was a long time ago!

    I can't sleep tonight.
    Outside, banging techno beats.
    Party on, Detroit.

    Pheasants live next door
    In an unmowed city park.
    Alley full of trash.

    This place wears me down.
    Leaving wouldn't change that, though.
    What the hell, I'm here.
