Default Five years after Comerica leaves, Michigan remains its best market

A little more than five years ago, a PR Newswire press release sent shockwaves through metro Detroit — Comerica Bank, the largest bank in the state, the oldest bank in the state, our bank — was moving its headquarters to Texas.
The headline on the release read:
"Decision Accelerates Comerica's Strategy to Diversify Customer Base
"And Extend Reach Into High-Growth Markets"
In the release, Ralph Babb Jr., Comerica's CEO and chairman, said: "Over the past three years, we have been advancing our strategy to diversify our customer base and extend Comerica's reach into key high growth markets.

Well, so much for that plan. Makes me happy I stopped doing business with these turncoats when they left the state.

I'm not sure the point of this article. Comerica has been in the mid-west for 100 years. Now they are getting half of their business from California, Arizona and Texas. Seems to me their strategy worked exactly the way they had hoped.
