Default Looking for 1940 Detroit restaurants

    I've got two important questions:
    1. When did Topinka's on the Boulevard do business?
    2. What were the top restaurants in Detroit in 1940?

I have a 90 yr old mother-in-law who is trying to remember where she went for her senior prom in 1940.

Here is a link to some Gone Buy Not Forgotton restaurants that was discussed on DetroitYes back in 2006, maybe it can help.

Topinka's was around early enough that Walter Briggs had his own little cubbyhole there, that would've proceeded the years he was in a wheelchair.
