    Default Traffic Signal Restoration

Here is my latest project. This signal was removed from service in March of 2011 at John R and Owen. It was made by Eagle Signal in the early 1940s. The orignal color was black, like all of the signals from then, but I decided to keep this one yellow. After I bought the signal, I immediately sent it to media blasting and found someone who would do powder coating on it. I have never had a signal powder coated before, but I am extremely pleased with the results. I replaced 5 out of 6 lenses for having beebee holes or being cracked. I also replaced all the cork lens and socket gaskets, as well as most of the brass screws and electrical wiring.

DS, I know you have done several of these and these take up a serious amount of room. What the heck do you do with all of the lights?

    Looks awesome BTW.

I actually own 51 signals currently. The ones that are not being worked on or displayed are disassembled and stacked VERY strategically in the garage awaiting restoration or eventual sale to other collectors.
