    Default Charles Swartz

I do genealogy and am looking for info about this cousin, Charles Swartz. He was living in Detroit with his brother Elmer Guy Swartz in the 1930 census for Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. Charles had been married about a yr. at this time to Nellie. In this census, he is listed as a patrolmen with the police. Charles was born 7-16-1903 in Nebraska. The only thing I have after 1930 is the social security death index, indicating he died 3-18-1971 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. The 1940 census will be out next week but until then -- I'm stuck at this point. If anyone could give me info about Charles & Nellie -- I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance,
    Joetta

I've been thinking about this question. The census is one thing, but we do also have some info on the employer. If he worked for Detroit Police Dept. is it possible there would be some record of this? Say he worked there another twenty years, that would put him up to 1950 or so.

Maybe check with Burton Historical Collection to see if they have the police records from 1930-1950?
