Our local EMBODI program has been designed with the hope of equipping boys aged 13-17 in the city of Detroit with the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed by offering a series of workshops with sports, entertainment, and technology-oriented themes. We are doing so by partnering with Wayne State University's College of Education, as well as other local and community organizations committed to the development, success, and empowerment of male youth.

The Arts and Letters Committee of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc,. Detroit Alumnae Chapter, in association with the Minerva Education and Development Foundation, presents its 30th Annual Art Auction, "Three Decades of Art." Join us as we celebrate and appreciate the work of local artists and raise funds to support scholarships to help local students attend college. Auction Catalog Advertising Forms are now available. You can download an electronic copy of the form, obtain one from a member of the Arts and Letters Committee, or pick one up in the lobby of DSTDFI Headquarters.

Proceeds will benefit Detroit Alumnae Chapter's Youth Scholarship Fund, which helps local students realize their dreams of getting a college education. We are appreciative of your support!

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter Presents - 2012 Teen Lift Black College Tour

This tour is an opportunity to expose students in grades 8-12 to the programs Historically Black Colleges and Universities have to offer.

The tour is expected to include visits to the following cities Nashville, TN [[Tennessee State University and Fisk University) and Atlanta, GA [[Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Clark-Atlanta University).

The $250 tour fee includes transportation, hotel accommodations, and activities. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required with application.



Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter: The Lillian Pierce Benbow and Charter Member Scholarships
are available to students attending a public, private, or parochial high school within the cities of Detroit, Highland Park, or Hamtramck. Awards range from $1,000-$4,000 and are based on grade point average. To be eligible to receive an award, recipients must have a grade point average of at least 2.5 [[out of a 4.0 scale) and enroll in a full-time program at an accredited college, university, or equivalent during the 2012-2013 academic year. Verification of enrollment must be provided.
Applications must include the following items:
• A typed, completed application form
• An official transcript
• Two [[2) letters of recommendation
• An autobiographical essay highlighting your community service involvement, leadership activities, and college and career goals
• A counselor’s signature

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter: The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Arts and Letters Scholarship
is available to high school students in their senior year at a public, private, parochial, or charter high school in the greater Detroit metropolitan area. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 [[based on a 4.0 scale) and be able to verify full-time enrollment at an accredited college, university, or equivalent for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Applications must include the following items:
• A completed application form
• An official transcript from your current high school
• One letter of recommendation from a current teacher or counselor
• One letter of recommendation from a community leader
• A one-page autobiography [[typed, size 12 Times Roman font, double-spaced, one-inch margins)
• Work samples [[e.g., video, CDs, slides, original artwork, or an original piece of writing)
• A self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your samples returned to you
