Default Shiver on ther River 2012

I'm very excited about Shiver on the River on Belle Isle. It's this Saturday.

I can't wait to get in the aquarium again. They've bought brack Gramps the fish, and I understand they have a new shark. I hope they will open the aquarium on a regular basis in the future. I also can't wait to see the boat house again.

Default 2012 Shiver on the River. Saturday Feb. 4

This is a growing event, I went two years ago, hopefully I will be attending this weekend. It's a nice way to see a number of places on Belle Isle all in one visit. http://www.detroitriverfront.org/eve...D-1BBE31D349A2

Went last year...the snowy day on Belle Isle was beautiful!!! And we enjoyed tours of the Detroit Yacht Club and the Coast Guard Station.

It's too bad that they hold this event the day before the Super Bowl. For those of us who host gatherings, it's hard to attend the Shiver every year when there is so much to do prepare for the next day. Our gathering is a longstanding tradition [[25 years!) to celebrate several family birthdays plus enjoy the commercials, the music, and the game. Maybe next year!

Are these fish there all the time now? Seems like it would be a waste to fill the tanks for only one day. Hopefully this will lead to better things!

Talked to my brother this morning; he was calling from the Aquarium. Said that about 10 tanks were filled with fish. Other tanks featured tortoises and other animals not requiring filled tanks. And still other tanks had displays in them. Basically some sort of exhibit in every tank throughout the Aquarium.
