I always thought it would be neat to live on an island. I don't think Zug would be the one, though.

Ever been there Ray? In the mid 70's I recall going on the Ford tour in High School and seeing a lot of this stuff. I must admit that I am found of the Islands namesake: Zug. Says it all with a hint of attitude.

I used to drive by it quite a bit around W. Jefferson. Wikipedia has a nice article on the history of the island.

I read somewhere that Zug Island was named after a Swiss immigrant who lived in the Delray area? Trivia: ZUG is German for 'train'. Seems appropriate, I worked at Great Lakes Steel summer 1973 and trains/RR tracks were everywhere in the GLS complex.
Zug Island was owned by Samuel Zug who came to Detroit from Pittsburgh
to manufacture furniture.
