The reporting on this story has been very vague. How did this gentleman die? Suffocation? Heart attack? Exposure?

    Anyone know?

    Yes, very sad.

One question, though, how are they going to call New Center the Westside?

I heard on the TV news yesterday that he hit his head while falling in. But they also mention that the building workers had spare keys for the guy.

Because the New Center is one the west side as marked by it being on the west side of Woodward. Sometimes streets like Churchill, Hague etc on the other side of Woodward close to West Grand Blvd are considered New Center.

But the actual area proper is on the west side of Woodward - the main dividing line between east and west Detroit.
