Default "Detroit isn't working", a picture series.

I'm sure there are some truths in this series, but even though I'm an outsider too, I can't help but feeling that this series of pictures was gathered from an outsider perspective. As if someone said: "You as Detroit natives must feel the whole world has abandoned you".
Sure, there are there are abandoned buildings, Sure there are churches that are struggling to stay afloat. But what is shown here must be the most dire part of the city as if it's the archetype view of Detroit nowadays. I think there are plenty thing going great in Detroit worth photographing.

    Anyway,

Pictures are of great quality though.

Picture are of a great quality, but they went copy-paste happy in the captions, they repeated the same text so many times that it became painful to read the captions.

Meh more of the same stuff. Noticing in the train station photos the angles of the photos avoid the construction equipment and cars posted outside of the station.

Yes....the repeated captions were very annoying, but i liked the picture quality as well.

I think every picture or mention of MCS should note it is owned by "billionare Ambassador Bridge owner Manuel [[Matty) Moroun".

I agree. Great picture, lazy captioning. I'd also like to add that it's all become cliche, but it's been like that for at least 3 years now [[i.e. since the beginning of the recession). Both downtown/midtown and the bombed out inner-city hoods are the real Detroit, but I'm getting tired of only these two extremes being shown, whether it just be the rose-colored shots of the skyline and skyscrapers, or the half-charred homes in the abandoned parts of town.

I know there is nothing sexy about shooting pics of some random CVS up Grand River or Gratiot, but this is just as much the reality of Detroit - and maybe more so - than any of the stuff they shoot over and over and over again on what seems like a monthly basis. Detroit's been reduced to the same old shots of the Packard, MCS, downtown, etc...when this simply isn't the daily reality for the vast majority of Detroiters.
