    Nope, he was trying to start a repeat of what we saw throughout Detroit back in 1967!!!

    Huh?? I don't remember any explosions in Detroit in 1967... what I remember is fires set, looting and some shooting.

    Weak analogy...

    A better comparison would be a repeat of the western burbs furniture store explosion that killed 2 last year... or one of many homes that blow up [[one about 8 houses away from me in SCS 3 years ago) due to gas leaks....

    People should be aware of where the shut off valves for the gas are. Somebody who knew what was going on could have simply closed the valve. Of course it would be a pain to fire everything back up but still.

    Unfortunately... Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison has shown a lot of down in their luck Detroit area homeowners where the shutoff valve is....
