Default Detroit 1-8-7 followed by Google Earth

Watching the series and viewing various and possibly hand picked sections of Detroit, so used Google Earth, traveling from every side of Detroit to the other, up and down streets, east, west, north and south. Have to say that your city is looking a lot better than it did when I left the Detroit area in 1956 when it all seemed to be going into a slide, the waters were more muck than H2O, and the entire inner city was no hope land. Or, at least, that's how it seemed to me.

Whatever Detroit has been doing for improvement is, from my eyes, incredible.

I'm guessing the post was meant to be facetious.

Air and water pollution were much, much worse back in the heyday of our manufacturing than they are today. There are more laws in place to restrict pollution as well as a lot less factories. If that's the factors of improvement that she's looking at, then she's right, but it's a real narrow view
