Default Restaurants & Bars Open on Christmas?

For those who might not have anywhere to go on Christmas, what bars and restaurants will be open that evening? [[both in the City and in the Detroit metro area)

I seem to recall that there are more open on Christmas Eve ... Does that sound right? ... or any worth mentioning that evening too?

I know there are usually Chinese and Japanese restaurants open on Christmas night.
I'm mostly asking about other bars and restaurants though. Particularly those that serve alcohol.

Christmas night is a fairly large partying night. Not sure about bars, but there will be nightclubs open. They won't be open on Christmas Eve though.

9 o'clock on Christmas eve has always been the traditional cutoff of liquor sales; unless Snyder has changed this, most bars will close at 9pm.

Would Christmas being on a Sunday have an impact on who is open?

Try Chinese Restaurants. There is a long-running of Jews dining at Chinese restaurants on Christmas since neither they nor the Chinese celebrate the holiday.

According to the Liquor Control Commission, liquor sales end at midnight [[technically 1159 p.m.) on Christmas Eve and resume at noon on Christmas Day.

Lowell, that brings up visions of Christmas Story... "Ringle Bells Ringle Bells"....

Patrick I have to agree with you on "Bucca Di Beppo".... I don't know if their Italian food is from a specific region of Italy, or just Italian in general.... their food has no flavor!!

I noticed these are mostly restaurants in hotels that need to be open for travellers. We went to the restaurant in the Hyatt in Dearborn one year on Christmas Day. We were the only diners until a bunch of folks came in from out of town whose kids were playing in a basketball tournament.
