Default FBI Report: Murders Up In 2011

Now, the bad news: Murders rose nearly 15 percent during the first six months of the year, a trend the Detroit Police Department says has continued. Through June, the department reported 173 homicides, up from 151 through the same stretch in 2010 and more than any major city aside from New York and Chicago, which each sport substantially larger populations.

And more bad news: Despite improvement, Detroit remains one of the most-violent cities in the nation, trailing only St. Louis and Flint in the per-capita crime rate. Memphis and Little Rock aren't too far behind.

Hmm, with the last week being pretty violent, not mention what is going unreported.
