I'm very much against public entities entering into confidential settlements with public funds. This same type of thing was the initial crack in Kwame's downfall.

Also, more on Wayne County, it appears as though the new Corp Counsel is still listed with the State Bar as being affiliated with her former firm, Allen Brothers. I read somewhere that she was still Of Counsel to the firm while she was an appointed magistrate with Dearborn Heights. Frankly, this reaks as well. Watch to see if Allen Brothers end up with any county contracts. They are neck deep in the Ficano entourage, which is how Elhasan got the nod.
