    Default Chase Bank Robbery Attempt

Apparently there was a bank robbery attempt at the downtown Chase building. Woodward appears to be shut down from Jefferson to at least Gratiot [[I can't see any further from where I am).I haven't seen the media pick up the story yet.I hope everyone's alright, and I hope the DPD nab whoever it was.

If the media picks it up, I'll get the links in here.

It would appear the Woodward shutdown was perhaps due to a rouge marching band, and not related to the robbery.

Woodward is shut down because of the Cass Tech celebratory parade

No kidding? Care to share exactly where Gratiot intersects Woodward?

    LOL, don't mind if I do: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Detroi...higan&t=h&z=18

Back when the Hudson's building was there, I don't think it went through, but I can assure you it does today!

Right next to that big hole in the ground where Hudson's used to stand.

LOL, yeah, it's all sorts of awesome. Normally I wouldn't have posted it, but I thought the Woodward closure was related, so that's why I created the thread.

Off-topic from the very beginning! Lowell can Euthanize this thread if he wants to.

LOL, no need to keep score. Here's a picture that clearly shows that once-upon-a-time you were correct:

The Bank was robbed by a gang of Catholic Central grads who hoped to cast the Cass Tech football team in a poor light.

Curious: With so many banks in the vicinity, how'd you settle upon Chase?

I don't know about that. I think you might just be a bankist.

That would make a great Woody Allen movie.

State is west of Woodward, Gratiot is east.

Shame about the Cass Tech band going rogue...

It happened after they watched the Lions play football the last two weeks.

    What a fun thread.

Not the robbery itself of course, but the reactions to it.

The area will be cleared if the robbers are still inside, but they don't block streets after a bank robbery. Best way to tell that a bank was robbed is when there are cops standing outside the front door during bank hours. They will tell you the branch is closed and when you ask why they just repeat that it's closed. A bank gets robbed someplace in Metro Detroit every day. The only robberies that make the news are if they got a lot of money or if something crazy happened [[injury, car chase, gun shots).
