Unrelated to the topic, but related to the thread title. Saddam Hussein was granted a Key to Detroit in 1981.

    That's right Hamtragedy!

In 1981 Iraqi President and dictator Saddam Hussein donated over $700,000 to the Sacred Heart Church in Detroit's Chaldeantown neighborhood in the North Side. The Chaldeans used the funds to build their community center on W. 7 Mile Rd. and Charleston St. After it was completed the letters "S" and "H" does not stand for Saddam Hussein. One of Priest went to Iraq to gave the Keys to the City of Detroit to Saddam [[ from of Mayor Coleman Young).

I can only imagine there were mixed feelings about that transaction on the part of the Chaldeans.

Not really. Saddam helped to fund the building of a Chaldean Catholic Church in the 7 Mile area.
