    Default Mitch Ryder autobiography

Should be an interesting read from one of the pre-Grande greats, scheduled for publication December 6. Despite the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's much-discussed shortcomings, I still find it bizarre that the Stooges were inducted before both Mitch & the Wheels and the MC5, the two greatest high-energy rock & roll bands Detroit will ever produce.

Mitch Ryder memoir a powerful account of his rise to music fame

By Susan Whitall/ Detroit News Music Writer

His voice was one of the most powerful sounds to come out of the 1960s, a marvel of soulful expressiveness that could launch from a husky whisper into a roadhouse scream at warp speed.

Mitch Ryder — backed by the Detroit Wheels — packed more joy and excitement into the grooves of records like "Jenny Take a Ride," "Devil with a Blue Dress" and "Little Latin Lupe Lu" than seems humanly possible...

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are a bunch of idiots. They just recently got around to inducting Alice Cooper, like 2 decades after they should have.

I wonder why Ryder published an autobiography now. This bio came out only 3 years ago [[and Ryder wrote the foreword): http://www.amazon.com/Was-All-Right-...1654765&sr=1-1

Good to see Mitch out with this autobiography. Hope it gets some good visibility from rock journalists and talk hosts. It'll help fill the house when he performs, too.
