The Australian Mint has proven they have as much time on their hands as ours apparently does, and they've coined a new...coin...in celebration of what must be an infrequent visit by some nicely-dressed woman from Up Over.

Weighing in nearly TWICE as heavy as my first car [[and worth more than every vehicle we'll ever own in aggregate), the gold coin [[there MUST be a larger word for this damn thing!) has a kangaroo on the one side and an image of the Queen Mum on the other. Since it is NAMED the Australian Kangaroo 1 Tonne, one can only assume she is the tail.

Is this some wonderful form of editorial on their part?!

New Zealand and Canada are reportedly collaborating on a new change purse for the old bird, in hopes that she'll come visit them, too. Sibling rivalry is SO intense sometimes, isn't it?!

Encouraging that these two seem to get along so well...Canada is making the actual purse, while New Zealand is handling the hydraulics...
