    Default Maggies Irish Pub

Has anyone ever heard of this place? I heard rumors of a good irish pub on the east side and this is all I could find but I don't know if it actually exists.

You sure by east side, they didn't mean somewhere in the suburbs, like Eastpointe or St. Clair Shores?

Maggie's Irish Pub is on Houston-Whittier and Gratiot [[south of 6 Mile). I never been there, but it seems like a hole in the wall to me [[I could be wrong). It's not in the greatest neighborhood either. In fact, it's in one of the worst neighborhoods.

Maggie's was the real deal back in the day. A big cop hangout, it was kind of a mini-Tipperary Pub over here on the east side. But I haven't been there for a long time now and I believe it's been closed for many years. I'd certainly be surprised to find out anything is still going in that abandoned-looking space.

Isn't there a Maggie's in one of the Pointes?

That would be the reason we couldn't find it when we were over that way. The only bar we found was a terrifying biker club

    Thanks for the info

So it looks like Maggie's has been rebranded as "Mo' Money Taxes." I didn't have time to stop in and find out if they had Smithwicks on tap, but maybe someone else can report back.

Maggie Maldoon's was over by Motor City Casino. There was also a Dunlevey's there. They were torn down when the casino came.

Really? Man, eastside Irish are a strange breed indeed.
