Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Side C, Bicycle Ride!

Presented by: Detroit Bikes, a project of Detroit Synergy [[www.detroitsynergy.org).

On Saturday morning, October 8, 2011, Detroit Bikes will host the 3rd annual Rock and Roll bicycle ride, appropriately called "Side C."

This relaxed-pace, non-competitive ride will visit a number of sites that make our town Detroit Rock City! Arguably, Detroit is responsible for more genres of music than any city, with the possible exception of New Orleans. To me, the Detroit sound [[that includes Motown, Techno, Hip-Hop, Punk, and more) incorporates a driving steady beat that is evocative of the automotive assembly line.

Mark Morden, a regular participant on many rides, including the Tour de Troit, will share his encyclopedic knowledge on everything Rock and Roll. Trust me on this. Mark has forgotten more about Rock and Roll than I could ever hope to know!

This Side C ride will highlight Hamtramck bar venues, as well as midtown and downtown clubs. Our primary stops will be Detroit Threads in Hamtramck [[vintage clothes, huge stock of vinyl, Detroit T-shirts, and much more!). Our optional food stop will be near the end of the ride at P.J.'s Lager House on Michigan Ave. This is truly a Rock and Roll bar [[guitar picks are embedded in the bar!) with outstanding food!

Please wear something Rock and Roll on the ride. Such as a concert T-shirt, a T-shirt of your favorite band, one shiny glove, etc! If you need something Rock and Roll
for the ride, or just simply need to be inspired, stop in at Showtime Detroit on Woodward and Palmer [[a stop on Side A) or Detroit Threads on Jos Campau just south of Caniff.
You WILL find something for the ride at either of these places!

As Mark say, "In Rock and Roll We Must Trust!"

And as Jack Webb would say, here are "Just the Facts!"
