Mitzi Gaynor elementary school visit - Tilden?

Does anyone out there remember Mitzi Gaynor's visit in 1954 or 1955? She visited my fourth grade class and her former teacher there. I think the school was named Tilden Elementary but may be wrong. A picture was in one of the papers.

My mother dragged me down to the Fisher to see her once.

Mitzi Gayner spent her child days living in Detroit. I think she was here until age 11.

the tilden elementary school was torn down in 1950 or 1951 to make way for the john c lodge freeway.i started school there and went two years before we had to move because of the ldge being built.i would love to see a picture of the old school.
