    Default Tushiyah United Hebrew School

The building at 609 East Kirby that once was home to the Tushiyah United Hebrew School and the Scott Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 6 of this year. Does anyone know much about the history of this building? Thank you.

The Tushiyah United Hebrew School is one the best schools on the Jewish upper east side community. Jewish kids [[ including non-Jewish kids) can learn Hebrew and understand their holy land better. Unfortunately when the Jewish community and its synagogues move away so did the Hebrew Schools. The building remains standing went through previous owner but closed for over 50 years.
