Am I missing something here? Or does this thread title qualify for non sequitur title of the year?

Disgraced former Sterling Heights City Manager - lied about his education and was fired for it

Helped the Newspapers fund Sterling Heights cops to intimidate and beat down newspaper strikers and escort replacement workers into the workplace.

Shows that the worst scum of the earth take up government for a profession. Oh well, there are a lot of strikers in Eastpointe, I might tell a few folks.

Unreliable workers deserve to get replaced. If someone cant show up and do their job, then they should not complain about being replaced. If someone don't like their salary or working conditions, then quit the job and find a new one.

What workers have you known that get paid for NOT showing up? Maybe some sick days used, or maybe some, [[according to you), do sloppy work, but paid no shows?

The worker can't win for losing, nowadays.

    Ding.

At my last job I didn't like the way I was treated and felt I wasn't paid enough. What did I do? I applied for job after job. It took six months but I was able to find a new job for a company I love to work for.

My current company treats me so well I have never thought about leaving. As a reward, they get my loyal hard work.

Two words: jobs bank. My in-law's relatives would head out to the "job re-training facility" and do crossword puzzles all day.

Management was perfectly happy to sign these contracts. But the union gets the blame. Same old shit.

A friend of mine works for a small city in New Jersey. They got a new park built by jobs bank guys, who did a wonderful job and saved the city a million dollars. But nobody wants to hear about that, they want to hear about your lazy ass in laws screwing the dog.

Why should GM/Ford/Chrysler's shareholders pay company workers a million dollars to build a park in NJ? On what planet does that make any sense?

Each UAW local was contractually responsible for finding qualifying off-site projects for their jobs bank personnel to work on. If any jobs bank guys were sitting around in "rubber rooms" doing nothing, it was because of the "lazy ass" local union officials.

I'd love to hear/read about this if it is true.

So persons only options si to quit their jobs or let the company treat them as they please. What all the more ironic that the things you probably enjoy at your job like health care, vacations time etc is because people other people didn't take that approach.
