Default Communist Party endorses Obama for 2012

Why do they feel the need to endorse a Democratic Party candidate? Why don't they run their own candidate and endorse him/her? Maybe Obama covers all of their bases, so he's just the right guy? Ron Paul runs under the Republican ticket, since the two parties make it nearly impossible to win on any other ticket besides Dem or Repub. Could the Communist Party be using the same strategy? I'm not convinced Obama is a card carrying Communist though, it's obvious, by his actions as president alone, that he's George Bush III.

This is just a PR coup for them. Make an endorsement of a POTUS for any lame reason, send out PR kits, than sit back and wait for all of the viral publicity. On they're budget, that makes pretty good sense.

    But that's ALL it is.

Of coarse, I'm sure the folks at Fox and on AM radio will use this as ammo for their ditto head audience. Hell, this probably gives idiots like Beck and Hannity enough to to fill a couple weeks worth of shows.

It's either true or it's not. I went to the Communist Party USA website and couldn't find any mention of the CPUSA supporting Obama in 2012. The articles found there, however, were pretty consistent with the opinions of Obama supporters on this forum.

The US Communist Party endorsed Obama in the last election, and in this one as well. I remember reading that thier reasoning was that even though he was not on the same page as them on all his points, he was close enough to them on most of them. They said that Obama could further thier agenda further and faster than anyone else, so that's why they endorsed him.

If any of you bothered to read the entire Sam Webb statement it was obvious that they were picking the lesser of two evils, as will many of you will also.

The right will throw out that Communism word which for the American public is the equivalent of saying the boogeyman is at your door ready to get you.

Actually in looking at the platforms of the Green Party and the Communist Party US there is not a lot of difference, both are to the left of the Dems just like the Tea Party is to the right of the Repubs.

However if you want people to freak out put the word Communism in there and people will just shut down.

Obama has said many times that he is not a socialist, that he believes in the free market , but government should act as a referee enforcing the rules.

A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama's "Hope, change and unity" campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda.
This diverse movement combines a variety of political currents and aims in a working coalition that is crucial to social progress at this point. […] The struggle to defeat the ultra-right and turn our country on a positive path will not end with Obama's election. But that step will shift the ground for successful struggles going forward.
Conveniently, this page has been removed.

    Really, it's no big deal.
The Communist Party doesn't claim Obama as thier own. They just see him as the most influential person who has and will continue to steer the country towards a more socialist/communist direction.

Unfortunately for them, the president doesn't share those views, as evident by his right of center policies.

Wall Street capitalists don't want referees.
The ultimate result of capitalism will be one corporation/person that the governments report to.

Stopping the spread of Communism will enable this dream.
