Jack Layton Passes

Fiery and colorful Canadian politician and long time leader of the rising NDP Party Jack Layton succumbed to cancer today. For those who follow politic on the south side of our metro in Windsor, an NDP strong hold, Jack will be missed.

In this year's election he led his party into second place making it the official opposition supplanting the fading left of center Liberals.

While I will holdmy tongue for what I reallly think of Layton [[though I do believe he was genuine). He sure was a politician who couldn't help to spend other peoples money on so many levels.

I still can't get the picture out of my head of this guy who was a Toronto city councillor who refused to move from a low-income co-op. Did he even realize that perhaps there was another family more deserving of this place than himself and his fellow councillor wife?

The thing I will say is he believed in what he was doing right to the core.
