Its too bad that few people would remember Terry Barr who was one of the few links left to when the Lions were a legit NFL franchise.

I remember the day Terry slipped in Green Bay and the Packers intercepted the ball. The Lions might have beat them and gone on to win that year. Instead, they had to settle the score on Thanksgiving Day in the historic rout of Bart Starr with the fierce some foursome handing his lunch to him. I believe it was 1962.

RIP...and how lucky he was to watch his former team have a perfect season last year.

That was back in the day when some players on offense also played on the defense. Yale Lary, Terry Barr come to mind.

No member of the Lions "Fearsome Foursome" is in the Football Hall of Fame.

I was sorry to read of Terry’s passing. In the mid 50s to about the early 60s my Dad and Mom would take my sister and me to the Hudson’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the two family cars. After the parade, we’d then load up Mom’s with the ladders, blankets, hot chocolate and the rest so she could drive my sister home. Guys bonding and leaving women with the clean up work. A time honored tradition of days gone by. It sure doesn't work like that in my house...and that is as it should be.

Dad and I would go to the Lions/Green Bay game. It has all become a blur over time but some of the names come flooding back and I smile. In addition to Terry Barr and Yale Larry were players like Howard “Hopalong” Cassaday, Bobby Layne [[Number 22), Gail Cogdill, Alex Karass, Dick “Night Train” Lane, Jim Gibbons, Dick LeBeau, Tobin Rote, Leon Hart, and Dorne Dibble.

The game was never the same after Green Bay was no longer the scheduled opponent.

Also sorry to learn of the passing of Terry Barr. I know he made an appearance 2 years ago when they honored the 1957 championship team. Like a lot of you I attended many Lions games[[including the 57 championship game) with my dad. He was a long-time season ticket holder[[Section 34 Row D seats 1&2 upper deck). Barr & Cogdill were terrific receivers. Is Cogdill still alive? I have 2 dvds of the Lions-1 of the 57 game & the other of highlights of the 62 season narrated by Van Patrick. I'll have to take another look at those & check out Terry Barr & the rest of those guys.
