How to get Detroit vital statistics records?

I'm trying to get some death certificates for family research. I've scoured the Detroit website but I can't figure out to obtain or order them. There are some online services that claim that they can order them for you. Does anyone have info on or experience with this?

Many early death certificates from Michigan [[say 1890 - 1925 or so) are on line. I've found a number of my family's certificates there.

The Seeking Michigan website is helpful as long as the deaths you're searching are between 1897-1920. Use the advanced search tool which will allow you to narrow or broaden your search using criteria besides last name.
