Default Choir from Eminem Chrysler Super Bowl Ad Releases Gospel Version of "Lose Yourself"

I thought the video was so moving I almost downloaded it from iTunes. I say almost because I saw that one of the "charities" was run by Robert Shumake.

Last we heard of him he was the subject of a FREEP article about fraud and misrepresentation with the two Detroit Pension Funds. See: http://www.freep.com/article/2009123...Robert-Shumake-

The article mentions how he also lost a separte lawsuit regarding mortgage fraud and still owes the lender nearly half a million dollars.

On top of that, he was the subject of another mortgage fraud scam by the Fox 2 News "Hall of Shame" investigative reporters. Click on here: http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/dpp/news...-20100714-wpms

If you do a Google search it seems that Shumake and his publicist have papered the Internet with PR announcements, cut-and-paste "articles" and writing blog spots to camouflage his activities. Maybe this is how he got through the vetting process at Chrysler.

Sure wish they had done their homework. I guess they use the same vetting process as the Pension Funds -- about none.

Default Choir from Eminem Chrysler Super Bowl Ad Releases Gospel Version of "Lose Yourself"

Loved seeing the CT marching band and cheerleaders prominently featured! Might have liked to see a few more of the folks who are working so hard to make Detroit a better place, but it's a great video.

Hope this series continues... I've always liked that song since it first came out, and the instrumentals are definitely becoming a Detroit anthem.

I too have always enjoyed the tune and the lyrics. Hence my forum handle! Funny how after all these years it's experiencing a resurgence.

Why don't they use the cash to pay back the billion plus dollars they screwed taxpayers out of when they "repaid" their gov. loan?

Default “Selected Of God” Choir has new version of “Lose Yourself”

The Selected Of God choir wowed the nation with their performance in the Chrysler Super Bowl commercial featuring Eminem.

Now Chrysler Brand and Eight Mile Style LLC have released a gospel version of “Lose Yourself”. The song can be downloaded directly from iTunes. Eight MIle Style will donate all publishing proceeds from the music download to three local Detroit charities – Abayomi Community Development Corporation, The Yuinon and the Robert S. Shumake Foundation.
The music video, which is not available for download, was produced by the Chrysler brand and filmed throughout Detroit.

I love the first few seconds of fog, too! Maybe it's because our city tends to be so overcast from November through April... I missed that gray mist when I was a college student in Florida, and loved it when I came back home... never was there a gray so beloved.

I love this video. It really shows some great shots of Detroit. And the best part is if you buy the song, the $ goes to charity. Does anyone know what rooftop they are on top of at the beginning of this video?
