Default St. Albertus Festival Saturday July 30

St. Albertus annual festival & music fest is this coming Saturday for any interested parties. Music and bands from 1:00 - 10:00. $5 admission is a real steal. St. Albertus is located at St. Aubin and Canfield, it is Detroit's oldest Polish church although it closed over 20 years ago. PAHSA now operates it as a Polish hertiage site.

They have a web site http://stalbertusdetroit.org/ They are also on Facebook, where I believe there is an actual music schedule. A classical performance 1:00 inside the sanctuary [[quite beautiful church) starts the festival, followed by more music.

Come see some of the volunteer clean up that Kryptonite and a few friends have done, despite the fact that we are aging and in various states of deterioration ourselves.

So far this is the only event I have on my list of things to do this weekend. Beer, Polish food and music! Kryptonite, will the church be open for tours, taking picture's etc?

Yes, the church will be open for the entire event to my knowledge. The 1:00 classical music performance on the church organ is, of course, in the sanctuary. Some kind soul volunteered to restore the organ a few years ago - a nice addition to services in the church. When I first started doing volunteer work there the organ was not functioning. The volunteers have accomplished a great deal with an extremely tight budget. I am not Catholic or Polish but I admire their dedication and spirit.
